Your Private Wine Tour
and Tasting in Graves

The left bank Graves appellation produces red wines with a majority of Cabernet Sauvignon in the blends, but the area is also home to complex dry white wines blended mostly from Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon - not to be missed! Graves encompasses the smaller, extremely unique appellation called “Pessac-Léognan” and goes all the way down to the equally remarkable “Sauternes”. Your full day wine tour and tasting in Graves, could include both red wines, dry white wines and sweet white wines.

Chateau d’Yquem in Sauternes

Pessac-Leognan

Pessac-Leognan proudly embraces all the Grand Cru Classé (classified growth) wines from Graves, including both red and dry white. From a historical point of view, this is where the first vines were planted in Bordeaux some 2000 years ago, so a Graves wine tour displays chateaux dating back to the 12th century.

Sauternes

If you like “dessert wines”, a Graves wine tour could include the unique Sauternes appellation, home to the world-famous Chateau d’Yquem. Noble rot attacks the grapes concentrating sugar and aromas, resulting in delicious, golden, sweet white wines. But they’re not all about sugar. The art of making Sauternes wines is to bring out a wide array of flavors while maintaining the balance thanks to a refreshing level of acidity. You must try them with stinky cheeses or foie gras. Yummy!

Small Group Wine Tour in Graves

Throughout this private Graves vineyard adventure, you’ll be introduced to the otherwise tightly knit world of wine in Bordeaux. You can simply lean back and enjoy the beautiful scenery, the enchanting architecture, learn about the secrets behind the terroirs and winemaking in chateaux that I have carefully pre-selected. And, of course, feel free to ask questions all day long. It’s your special day!
