Have a Wonderful Multi-Day Journey for an Immersive Bordeaux Vineyard Exploration

"Would you like to become a Bordeaux wine aficionado and be able to order a Bordeaux wine, with self-assurance?"

If the answer is yes, a multi-day tour is the perfect way to get an in-depth discernment of the different wine styles here. This organized journey in Bordeaux’s vineyards for 2 or 3 days will give you confidence in Bordeaux’s old, traditional and rather complicated (I know!) production and labelling practices. You’ll have time to see, explore, compare, taste, verify, question - and most importantly enjoy – everything thoroughly.

An Authentic French Wine Tour

Discover what makes Bordeaux so special, how the unique terrain and climate shape the flavors of each bottle on this authentic French Wine tour. The Garonne River runs through the vineyards of Bordeaux which - among many other factors - influences the terroir (the natural growing conditions), which in turn defines the grapes grown there and the subsequent wine style.

This gives way to 2 quite distinct wine profiles: “Bordeaux Left Bank wines” and “Bordeaux Right Bank wines”. But what are the real differences? What makes them so different? How do I easily distinguish them on the label? Which wines pair better with which food? Which Bordeaux wines do I prefer?

A multi-day tour will allow you to grasp the full scope of Bordeaux’s different wine styles.

Multi-Day Tour
2 or 3 Days

For an easy-to-understand approach to Bordeaux’ two prevailing red wine styles, I highly recommend one day on the Left Bank and one day on the Right Bank. With a focus on red wine, this usually includes a day in le Médoc and a day in Saint-Emilion (it can easily include Pomerol).

A fan of white wines?

Dry

Few people are aware of the wonderful dry white wine production of Bordeaux, that represents about 10% of the local production. If you love dry white wines, it would be a pity to neglect our complex, refreshing, food-friendly wines while you’re here. The most wonderful examples are produced in the Graves district.

Sweet

For sweet wine lovers, Sauternes is a must-see/must-taste wine appellation (It represents only 2% of Bordeaux’s entire wine production). The specific micro-climate allows for the grapes to shrivel and concentrate their flavors, intensity and sugars, which creates marvelously intense wines that pair beautifully with blue or stinky cheeses, spicy foods or foie gras.
