Full-Day Customized Tour of Arcachon Bay

If you've visited as many Bordeaux wineries as you can handle, take the opportunity to explore the cultural richness and magnificent landscapes of the surrounding region. Enoy a full-day waterfront tour by the Atlantic Ocean.

Arcachon

Dune du Pilat

Seize the opportunity to climb the majestic Dune du Pilat, the tallest sand dune in Europe. This remarkable wonder of nature offers breathtaking views and colors: the Atlantic Ocean on one side and the Landes Forest on the other. It’s a must-visit for any curious nature-loving traveler, and it’s only an hour’s drive from the city of Bordeaux.

Oyster Farms

You don’t want to miss the Bay of Arcachon with its countless oyster farms. A few hours before noon, the oysters are collected in the bay and taken into the tasting huts on the traditional flat-bottomed oyster-boats. It doesn’t get much fresher than that. The oyster bed worker is usually happy to explain the whole procedure of oyster farming …

Sea-front Town, Colonial Style Houses, Patisseries, Shops, Cafés, Art Galleries, …

A stroll around the quaint coastal town of Arcachon, with its countless bars, cafés, shops, and art galleries, is just delightful.

La Ville d’Eté is the name for the low-lying beach area, where you can taste the famous Dunes Blanches de Chez Pascal (patisserie), perhaps an ice cream or a glass of wine, while taking in the local marine life: a lovely blend of relaxation and natural beauty.

La Ville d’Hiver on the hill side is the 100-year-old part of the village with its many quintessential houses, decorated with delicate wood tracery (neo-gothic to colonial style). There’s something for everyone in Arcachon!

A Boat Ride

Treat yourself to an unforgettable ride on an Arcachon Pinasse boat with a local skipper. Discover l’Ile aux Oiseaux or the famous Cabanes Tchanquées (meals and wine upon request, activities à la carte).
The Pinasse is the traditional boat of the Arcachon Bay (only found locally). It was created in the 1900s and built specifically to navigate the basin, originally for fishing and later for oyster farming.
